It's All Good

Johnny came through with flying colors yesterday. No worries. Such a laid back kid. He is my third child to have braces and in the past the day they get them on is not a good day. While he had them put on I ran out and bought him a surfing magazine and a CD to appease him when he got out. I should have saved my money. He was fine and happy. I tried to get a picture of him w/the braces and he gave me a hard time.

It didn't take too long before I got him...

Which reminded me of another time when I was trying to get a toothless shot. It took me many shots before I got this...

Usually he is very willing to pose...

Here's one of his favorite poses...

It comes up again and again...

He couldn't seem to stop himself this day...

He's been perfecting the pose for many years....

But, as the sign on his door says...

He is so cute, and you're such a great mom to be out rifling through surfing mags for him. I hope I'm as lucky with my little guy as you've been with your kids.

:)

SOoooooooo cute. I remember for awhile I wanted braces as a kid because all the "cool" girls had them.

I learn something new about you all the time Carla. Good thing I started the blog. Johnny thinks they are like grills that the rappers have so he's not having a problem having them. And not only do the cool kids have braces now- they ALL do! When I dropped him at a friends house that day before practice as soon as his friend, who doesn't have braces, saw Johnny he put tin foil on his teeth. It's all good....

Funny! My brother's favorite pose growing up was the thumbs up. My mom hated it. He always wanted to do thumbs up, i think i was a homage to the fonz. Anyway she would beg and he would find a way to sneak it in. Arms crossed with a little thumbs up sneaking it's way in. It's fun to look back at family pictures and find it.

Thank you for the comment, sometimes I wonder if anyone out there is really reading. I would like thank you for having your son in the military, we need good people out there watching each others backs so that we all come home safe! Btw, I have some friends in Germany and from what I hear they are having a good time before deployment ... :)

I hope that you dont mind if I apploud you for being internet savvy. I wish my mom could be alittle more in the now with some things ...

Again, thank you for the comment ... I wish you and your family the best of luck!

I was listening to the Sports Junkies the other morning and all these people were calling in saying how all these kids are into "grills" and that they will use gum wrappers and/or foil to make their own.
Lord, I know I had a mohawk for awhile when I was a teen but I'm just not sure I could be down with the grill. Although it works for the rappers.

I think it's a hideous look (grills) but I didn't like your mohawk either so I guess it's just an age thing. Although if you had a mohawk now I would be pretty f-ing impressed. Lisa tried to do dreads and I wouldn't allow it. No dreads, no tats, and no piercing please. Not while you are under 18. Of course Michael and Taylor both have a tattoo now (or two). Oh and so do you Carla! I forgot. I don't mind them on other people. I guess I am old fashioned or just old. To each his own.

The thing is that I really dont want to have to depend on something to fall asleep ... the doctor had given me some cough medicine with codine in it ... it worked but I had to take a double dose and I really dont want to get dependant on taking something to fall asleep ... especially when I head down range ...

But I think its a combination of things ... turns out that I have a pretty good idea and sat up organizing my thoughts and laying somethings out ... bad thing is I cant stop thinking about it :)

ps - briefings today where totally different then what I thought ... too bad they went right over the heads of about 75% of the troops and it just made them mad ...
