An Introduction...

Yesterday John again took a day off (I feel so special) to take me across the Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore. I needed to get some clay and pick the brains of the people at Clayworks. After that we decided since we were already on the other side of the bridge we would shoot over to Washington and introduce ourselves to the new addition to our family.

This in Alexandra born on August 8th to Johns brother Chris and his wife Paula.

Here are the proud Aunt and Uncle about the job of convincing the child that we are her favorites.
Alexandra has an older brother Sammy. He is also learning I am his favorite aunt but has been resistant. He only just learned my name. But I am on the case and will be buying him Thomas the Tank trains as that is his favorite right now. I will prevail.

In the name of winning his heart I let Sammy used my digital. He took pictures of "the mommy" and Uncle John.

And Daddy and the rug.

Here Sammy was regressing a little and went back to binky. It's okay Sammy, we all have to regress sometimes. It's perfectly normal. Oh the stress of gaining a new sibling.

You mean there's a point at which we have to give up our pacifiers? NO! NEVER!! They'll have to pry mine out of my cold, dead mouth!!

And you and John should try not to look so miserable next time.:) Congratulations to the both of you, as well as the Mommy and Daddy.

Hi Mary, I don't know, I don't know. You do know at least half of america (and europe) still think he is doing right, good fighting evil.
And I was thinking the title of the last post on poetic justice
"Don't burn the flag, wash it"
Anyway, thanks for calling. Hope you are having a nice day. - Q.

Hi Mary, thanks.
Well Bush supporters apart from those of the "I'm all right and doing very well thanks" elk - do consist of a lot of people that did feel threatened by the spectre or ghosts raised by the attacks. Some People somehow feel cosy comforted and cocconed by displays of military might, displayed on tv
However thousands died in the SE Asian Tsunami, and Bush and the mighty US military were pretty powerless to do anything.
And Bush seemed even more powerless when katrina hit New Orleans, no comfort there from the powerful military or the all mighty President of the US.

FWY- We are baby lovers. But you know a little about that yourself.
Don't worry we won't take your binky either.

Hey Peter! That was my favorite too. It really expresses who took it.

My nephews better know I am their favourite aunt.

It's true what Quasar says...in my case, aunt is always prouder than the parents.

Thanks everyone for as always all the nice comments.

Betmo, my guess is Alex will have to get used to being second banana.

GG- I love being the aunt way better then the mommy.

Glenda- I think its warm fuzzies but warm fizzies sounds good too.

I did go to the beach today. I think I got to much sun. But it was a beautiful day. I hope you enjoy your weekend too.

I've always been broody... especially when I'm not the one hatching the eggs! Or raising them for that matter. And yes Sammy is a beautiful boy.

Congratulations on the new niece! She is beautiful. Porr Sammy. It's hard when a new baby comes along. But when they realize that everyone stills loves him the same, it's all good.
