Shoe Shopping!

I have seriously been in the dumps about our country the last couple days. Like I have been sucker punched in the stomach. John took me out last night and I ranted over martinis. It just wasn't enough to feel better. So there's just nothing for it but to shoe shop. It won't fix the problems but it will take away the sting for a day.

I shall cross the Chesapeake once more this week...for the cause. Meanwhile check out the links below to understand what ails me. And then vote people. Vote for a big ass change.

Dear Mary, i know what you mean. imagine if they put just half the time, effort and money they've wasted, and put it all toward investigating terrorists, capture (without torture) and prosecution. if we spent all this on peace instead of war. in my mind i see these big arches over washington d.c.: Billions and Billions Wasted, and what do we have? squat!

i just put on a pair of not too old boots that fit really good, i'm going to go out and work (play) in the yard.

peace, peter

Quasar- Very cool video. Thanks.

Peter- I agree. Our government is not being very creative are they. That is why I am so baffled and sickened. And shoe shopping was a bust. I should have done as you did. Still in a foul mood.

you may have lost your writ of habeus corpus- but you got a kick butt pair of shoes! i really dig them :) i can't say anything to make things less bleak than they already are. we have one out left (as they say in poker) our river card is the supreme court that gingrich is calling for an end to. if they don't stand for us- then we truly are lost.

cute shoes! Things seem bad, but I think this news will actually hurt the Republicans in the election this fall.

Check out Washington!

I love your new shoes!

I'm trying not to pay attention to the political stuff, since I can't vote and all that... so I'll probably do some of my own shoe shopping at some point in the near future...

Betmo, Jesus I hadn't even heard about Gingrich calling an end to the supreme court! What the hell are these people smoking?

Glenda- I hope you're right!

Lukka- Thanks for the video. I think I will be singing that all day.
I went shoe shopping again after my sons game. Had so much more luck. In fact if I had the money I could have at least bought 5 pairs. But you know...

No-It isn't as easy for me as Carrie. I don't live in NYC and were I do live there aren't any good stores. I had to drive all the way to Annapolis which isn't that much better than around here.

For people who don't do a lot of shopping or don't do a lot of reading up of the shopping pages or shopping reviews, there is something of a shock when one comes upon anomalies in the shopping patterns of the world. While there are many different "sections" or "districts" in Manhattan; the diamond district, the flower district, sportsbook the garment district; there are some semi-sections or small areas of town with an approbation towards particular types of goods or services or cultures that can impress even longtime residents with the absolute centricity of the location of the businesses.
