This IS What Democracy Looks Like!

Please go over to THEPEACETRAIN.ORG and read my post on the march on Washington. It was an awesome day.

Great pictures!!! my feet are still hurtin' but it was worth the 24 hrs on a bus. What do you think of the medias down playing the size of the march? We had 3 buses from Ann Arbor, 3 buses from Kalamazoo & 3 buses from Lansing.

Dear Mary,

Great pictures and a great story! We were protesting at a Duncan Hunter fund raiser last year and one woman yelled "Commies!" at us. We laughed!

peace, peter

Psychomikeo- The reports are all over the map aren't they? It's a shame we can't get some honest reporting. I thought it was an awesome turnout! Bravo to you for traveling so far. It all made me very hopeful.

Peter- Saw your slideshow. You guys did an awesome job on the West coast. Good weekend.

Cream- Nice to hear from you. I think we are growing in numbers everyday.

As I watch this movement grow, time goes backwards thirty years, and I'm out there again, keeping America alive, one voice at a time.

calling us anti-war parasites and smelly hippies.
ROTFL!! That cracked me up!! They wouldn't know a hippie if one bit them on the ass!:) I noticed a sign carried by one of the Nazi supporters; "America will always fight for liberty." It is pathetic, as well as a sign of their vast and unending ignorance, that they can't know the difference.

What you did with and for those kids, was a once in a lifetime experience. Be Proud!!!!!!!!!!

""smelly hippies""

LOL at the fact that the stupublican social conservative are still using that term.

Great job with everything. I am proud of you!

Well done Mary! Speaking as someone from another country, that goes a long way in restoring our faith in America.

Wonderful, Fabulous, Super! I grin and grin everytime I see the posts on the march. You did a great thing. P.S. We were told by a passing nut that we were members of the Communist Party! We told them, there is no communist party, you dummies.

I wish our march out here in Babylon by the Bay had been more of a success--turnout was a bit disappointing.

Dusty- I guess it's a waiting game now.

Robert- That was much more of an effort on your part. My drive was a couple of hours. Good for you.

TUA- We so outnumbered them that they were no concern to me. But it was funny and of course something else those kids had never seen.

Earl- Thank you. It was my pleasure I assure you.

Spado- There were people there who put in way more effort than i to get there. I'm so glad I went.

Human- I don't know. Damn blogger.

Ole Blue- That's what I said. What hippies? Where.

Willowtree- Well that's good to hear.

Ms Liberty- I enjoyed yours too. It was a great weekend all around.

Peacechick- It's a far reach isn't it?

Donnie- I wish you were there too. YOU would have loved it.

Kvatch- Any turnout is a good turnout IMO.

No- That's unusual.

I just read your rally post. I have to say, great job.

I'm not really a stand up and make yourself heard type of person. So usually I only hear about rallies and protests from the news, which isn't always the most "fair and balanced". It was great reading your account and getting an inside view.

Also, I applaud your lesson to the young ones about the opposing protesters.
