Carla's Mosaic

I've been at Carla's house for the last couple of days installing a mosaic for her. I know it is not quite everyone's cup of tea but I really like it. Taylor helped me since she's fairly nearby where Carla lives. Very grateful for her help. She really liked it also.

As an added bonus to my trip to Carla's (besides seeing Carla and Taylor) I FINALLY got to meet Mark Minnick

from The Follow Spot in person. Very funny. I suggest you Carla-philes click the link. You will see a post about our meeting which includes some aweful pictures of me (I was WORKING all day) as well as Carla doing the splits. That's right. Another talent of Carla's. It never ends.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner together compliments of Carla's husband Scott. Much good conversation and many laughs. Taylor and I finished the mosaic after dinner and this morning I grouted it. Carla hasn't seen it all grouted yet. Can't wait for her reaction.

I was just thinking about you and your mosaics today as my youngun's were tag-team painting. I was having a hard time holding my tongue despite the fact that both little darlings declared the picture "per-fehct!" My grown up eyes tell me otherwise :)

Your mosaic kind of reminds me of the inside of a computer, very creative.

Very high tech. I like the black grout, too and the splash of bold over the stove.

Thanks for the ego boost everyone. I must say I am surprised at the unwavering approval. I was expecting some negative reviews. Maybe the naysayers are keeping their mouths shut which is nice of them and I appreciate that too. I am sensitive.

Donnie, Bluegrrrl, Antonio, Quasar- Thanks for the comments. Really. I am really spending alot more time in the studio which means less time for blogging. What I am finding though is the more I am out there the more ideas I get. There is so much I want to make!
