Holiday Weekend

I made my families traditional Easter lasagna this weekend. Johnny was away on a surfing trip this year so I didn't have his help w/the LONG noodles. I didn't put the meat in it this year. I made some meatballs and chicken Marsala also. At one point I stopped and looked around at the huge mess I was making and decided that I would share it with you.

Other than the fact that I was missing both my sons I did enjoy a nice QUIET weekend with my family.

The next time you see my kitchen back splash it WILL be mosaic-ed.

The best recipes always make the biggest messes. I hope it was good.

I love Chicken Marsala!

Oh, a new mosaic! I can't wait. As for messes, they come and go, right?

Hey, that's not a "mess", it's an (food) artisan at work!

It's the red chile lights around the window that do it for me.

Yumm, my mouth is watering! I'm glad you have taken time out from trying to stop the insanity to do some down home style blogging.

I'm not being smart or anything, I'm just pleased that you have put aside the burden for a day.

Nick- It was successful but I feel fat.

Katie- I love to make a mess but I feel so good when its all cleaned up.

JM- I did need a quiet weekend for sure.

Dawn- You said it! We always intended to tile those walls but as John builds homes everyday are just never got finished. See those outlets w/no covers? They've been like that for years. I'm done trying to figure out what I want and I am going for it.

Dizzy- You are my new Spin Dr.

Krissy- It is killer. I will post it later.

Antonio- I love those lights!

Willowtree- I honestly can't take much of it. Gets me down. I read so much of it that to then be posting myself is too much for me. Although I have strong feeling about ending the war.

Supergirlest- I try to go for cozy and something that says me. The backsplash will do that.

Traditional lasagna? I LOVE it!

I hate making a ham and yams every year.

Cream-I can't wait either! I think you are the only one who has been visiting my blog so long that you were around for last years lasagna. Thank you.

Mark- We missed you on Easter.

La Bellina- No you do have the gourmet menu. You had a whole Week!

Dusty- I am not big on ham. Besides my mother always made lasagna on Easter so I do. Once I made fish and everyone was upset. People like there traditions don't they?

cooking = mess. no way around it. now that I'm doing more 'scratch' cooking again I find that I'm doing dishes constantly, sigh.
