A Shower. A Mailbox. Some Sisters. A Harbor.

I went to a wedding shower of a friends daughter Saturday afternoon. A friend I hadn't seen in a while. It was on the 22nd floor of an oceanfront building. Spectacular view. I could definitely look at that everyday. My daughter and I gave a combined gift of a bunch of kitchen items and I made a mosaic mailbox at Taylor and Johns suggestion. I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack right before my gift was opened. I felt much better about the kitchen stuff. But to have something you made put out before a room of people. It was a terrible feeling for me. Everyone loved it though and I gave out every card I had. I am terrible at this stuff.

After the shower my friend and her sisters asked me to go paint the town with them. I said what the hell and we did...
Started on the bay and ended at the harbor. No driving. Taxi's. I spent ALL of Sunday in bed. Now I remember why I haven't hung out with those sisters in a while. Seriously though it was FUN!

I swear, this is the most amazingly cool wedding shower gift I have ever seen!!! I mean, I'm sure the kitchen gadgets were nice and all...but that mailbox is phenomenal!

Glad you had fun at the after-party too. Take a couple of motrin and feel better tomorrow!

Seems to be a normal feeling. But realizing no one gave a present handmade, well, surely no anxiety in that.

Very cool too! If our mailbox didn't hang on the house and being small, I'd ask you to make one for us also! ; )

Kitchen stuff comes and goes, but this mailbox is a work of art. Beautiful colors and love the shell design. Everything about it says, Beach me.

Yoga- I am so bad in person presenting it. I am so sure everyone is going to hate it. I don't know what that is about. Why do I not have confidence in my own work.

Bluegrrrl- I don't know whats worse. having too much to drink, inhaling second hand smoke all night or staying up past my bedtime. But I am all better and going for a nice long run.

Coffee- That is exactly where all the anxiety was coming from. I really wish I could overcome it. I can't speak in public either. Never have been able to conquer it. People tell me to join toastmasters which seems absolutely horrifying to me.

No- Email me. Tell me what you want exactly.

Katie- Thank you.

Peacechick- It's pretty simple design that I did at the last minute. In fact the shells came when I was trying to figure out some way to spice it up. Always have some shells laying around this place.

Mary, a gift from the heart is always better than something store bought. The mailbox is wonderful, not just that it is gorgeous, but also because it came from your heart.

And it looks amazing! Good on ya, sista!

No confidence in one's own work! That is what makes great artists.
Is the nameplate a tile you fired or did you decorate it afterwards?

So, you had a great time, you party animal! Good on you!

I completely agree with Blue! What an amazing gift!! It does not surprise me that you exhausted your supply of cards. Who wouldn't want one of your pieces of art?!

Great mosaic mailbox.
Sounds like you had a ball.
Once in a while it is a good thing to paint the town with the girls. Or the living room.

DK- Japan! How lucky for you. I've been in Maryland all my life. This side of the bay for the last 20 and the other side before that.
