Another Wedding

My oldest daughter came home this past weekend with her boyfriend. We had another wedding to attend. One of her friends was getting married. We were all looking forward to seeing friends. And for me, it's always a treat having Taylor and Sheldon come visit.

My man looked sharp and I had to keep the ladies at bay.

But while I was hanging out with the girls...

someone had been watching too much "Dancing w/the Stars"...

Here's the beautiful bride, her sister and Taylor and Sheldon. Lots of fun.

Sort of a WOW moment when you can remember all these kids when they were little and you realize that one of your friends children is getting married. Life goes on. Time flies. I try to enjoy every moment I have with family and friends.

On Mothers Day my children were all home (except for Michael) and the took me out for breakfast. It was lovely. Michael had called before we left. He also called on Saturday! Lucky me. He FINALLY got the word that his tour was extended to October. Of course. He would have been home in June. I am sad that he will miss the surfing. I don't think he's been here in the summer for 3 years. Speaking of time flying I hope this does.

This coming weekend I will be attending my daughters college graduation. I am very proud of her. This has been one busy ass month!

It's what I call gift season. Graduations, weddings and all things summer.
I just read your post about Sanibel. We'll be there for a week next month. It's a yearly thing for us and we look forward to it so much. Did you get to the Periwinkle shops? Buy anything at the Fresh Produce clothing store. I load up on summer clothes there every year.

You have a beautiful daughter but girl, you're STILL a looker yourself! Good thing you've got that great attitude about time flying. Any other person would lament getting older, but I suspect you're just having more and more fun! As for dancing with the stars..ain't it fun too! I'm rooting for Joey because I think that he is AND a great natural dancer, AND puts a LOT of energy into it. June 17th we're apparently having a dancing with the stars performance here in Austin in which he participates..I'm tempted to get tickets to go see.
and yes, as usual, your man is quite the handsome escort (good for you you can take him places lol)

Have you seen the John Waters show "Till Death Do Us Part" on CourtTV yet? It is absolutely the greatest crime show ever-John starts every show by attending the wedding of someone who winds up killing his/her spouse later.

I love the wedding business but I am so incredibly sorry that Michael's tour has been extended. That is absolutely heart wrenching and I pray for him and all of your family.

Looks like you've been busy. Be glad you've had plenty of the "good kind of busy", but I'm sure you are. Enjoy the graduation... like you need my permission?

Mary, you are the quintessential mother and I know your children are proud to have you. I'm glad you spoke to Michael but sad to here it's till october. My oldest sons friend is getting married soon and I knowwhat you mean. I have pictures where it's like mini-me's and then all grown up. Scray huh

Peter- Mmmmmm. That sounds yummy.

Pop- So envious. I do love it there. I hope to go again later in the summer. I like it when there is no one there. Unfortunately I had no shopping time. But I did eat some awesome Grouper at Lazy Flamingo and Doc Fords Rum Bar and Grille (great Mojito's there too).

Ingrid- You are so sweet. My daughter is good looking isn't she? As for me... I'm doing the best I can.
Now for Dancing w/the stars...I am torn between Apolo and Joey. I do love that show. I love watching them dance. I wish I was on it. Or that I could just dance that well. And I say YES! get the tickets. Go for it. If I were closer I'd go with you!

Jollyroger- I love John Waters. He has a film festival about 1/2 hr from here every year. I NEVER watch court TV but I will look for this show. Sounds good.

Peacechick- Lately I feel like it. :-} Hey, it's not such a bad thing to grow up to be is it?

Pursey- Thank you so much but I guess we all knew it was coming right. Let's just get these freaking idiots out of office and get our troops out of Iraq already. What haven't we done to accomplish this? I am at a loss.

JM- I just wish all the fun could be a little more spread out BUT I will take it however it comes.

Dawn- Michael was counting the days until June so I know it was big letdown for him.
And yeah it is scary watching them get all grown up. I will tell you this, after all this time and the ups and many, many downs, I do feel like I have really good relationships with my kids. I couldn't ask for more. I'm sure it's the same for you.

Mary, I can't believe I've just noticed that John has got rid of his goatee!
I've had my tache for 33 years and anyone who comes near it with a blade is dead meat!

Shame Michael's tour has been extended. I hope he's safe and well.

Cream! I was waiting to see if anyone noticed. I don't like him not having it. I keep telling him to grow it back. I think it was getting too much gray in it and it bothered him. I want it back. I tease him and say "Haven't you noticed the women are backing off?"
Thank you for your concern for Michael. It is much appreciated.

Congratulations on your daughter's Graduation. I read some of the previous posts. How much fun can one have in one month?
Love the pics, especially the old gravestones.

Hayden- I value my family more an dmore everyday.

La Bellina- It's exhausting and I'm falling behind but you can't pass up these moments.

Krissy- Another observant one. Well? Whats your opinion? Do you think he should grow the goatee back?

Quasar- Well I wish it were. I wish we could get rid of the bill paying part.

Human- Thanks. I also loved those gravestone shots. It was a very cool place.
