Okay, okay, I'm posting...

It was a beautiful Saturday. Sun shining and the yard really starting to strut its stuff. John's roses are coming out. Just everything coming to life. Again John and Johnny were away for a lax tournament. Johnny was playing in it this time. Last weekend they were away watching the NCAA men's lax tournament. Anyway it's very nice for me to have this alone time. I've been raising children for 23 years and moments of peace and quiet are few and far between. Oh but there was no peace and quiet for me because my OTHER new neighbors were blasting music so loud from 10-10. Bummer. I really love having my windows open and just enjoying the quiet. Okay. Whadda you gonna do? There was a really good breeze blowing so I was not closing the windows. Then they start burning trash and of course the smoke is blowing in my house. Idiots! You don't burn trash on a windy day esp. when there hasn't been any rain. When John called I told him about it and he called the owners of the property who rent it out. They agreed it was a no burn day (but seriously, who burns their trash?) and told us to call if there were any other problems. Whatever. I went in the studio.

That's a couple shots in one part of the yard. Now see the grill up against the house. Every year when we open it up there is a birds nest in it.

No matter how many times you remove it it will be rebuilt. Happens in the barn in cabinets we have. If you forget to close the cabinet doors they build a nest. Annoying. I am currently campaigning for barn doors to just keep them out all together. I mean, John is builder.

The rest of the weekend was rainy and gloomy.

Sorry I am not posting much but I've been busy.

Glad to see ya back , glad to see you figured out the s/p and now you cantell your idiot neighbors that you don't burn trash on a windy day but why were they burning trash do they not pick up in your neighborhood HeeHEe. Oh I only have 21 years of noise but I totally understand wanting the quiet. I plan on throwing my loved ones out soon and often so they can go fishing and I can have peace

what a beautful space! I'm jealous- what a peaceful place to hang out - except for the neighbors music, of course.

Mary...you have been tagged (book meme at my site)...when you have some time ;)

I love summer. I'm not a hang outside kind of gal, but I love cracking open the windows and just letting the cool breeze of the real wind roll through the house.

I echo the "nice place!"

Too bad for the music though. I'm with you as far as the "peace" in those conditions should be! ; )

I love the place where you live. Neighbors can be trying at times, can they not? I love birds, though. Every bird nest I find is like a treasure.

What a beautiful yard and relaxing too. Listen, my nutty neighbor did that music business and left the house for hours with the outdoor speakers blaring. Hubby went over and disconnected them and left her a message to call when she got home so he could hook them back up. All seemed fine, but she was secretly seething that he had entered her property. (back yard but fenced) Anyway, every third night or so for over two months she would get up in the dead of night and drive through our front yard, tearing it up. Crazy neighbors are a real drag. I feel for you.

I finally had to buy a cover for my grill. The birds didn't nest in it, but they would sit on the shelf on the side which had a little sunken section on it. I would end up with a pile of bird crap in it.

Dawn- They do pick up trash here. Yes they do. I don't know, I guess some people are cheap. I really don't get it. I thought it was against the law. I have had some idiot neighbors burn plastic which is toxic! But I'm just a girl from the suburbs so what do I know?

Hayden- It is a beautiful place. John and I have work hard to make our little gardens. It's been a slow process but we have lived her for 20 yrs.

Dizzy- I promise I will do the meme. I LOVE books. Somehow I missed this comment.

Cream- Oh well. I don't have much to complain about. Once in a while it slips out.

CM- I love music (and that is what I tried to tell myself all day) but people need to also appreciate silence.

Just me- My sister saves the nests and shellacs them. I love bird watching but it's just a little trying when they are building all over. Too many at my place. I mean you have heard about the huge old pecan tree they all sit in and how my house get absolutely covered in bird shit sometimes. No lie.

Pursey- OMG! That's a great story but I mean, not funny if you are actually living it right? This is why we should all have lots of acreage.

Antonio- I have a cover. You can't stop the crafty birds out this way.

Donnie- I swear that I only recently started voicing my opinions. This is actually mild stuff compared to the freaking rottweiler that used to constantly come in my yard. And he was not a nice doggie. He took after the kids once and my black lab had to step in and save the day. He saved it alright but couldn't get up off the ground for weeks. Animal control just doesn't care. Guess you have to get killed first.

Ingrid- Thanks for the heads up.

Peacechick- I'll live. Just gotta bitch about it sometimes.

Don't you just love it when you have that quiet time and someone else ruins it. One of our neighbors raises those little yapping dogs and every morning they start yapping until they are fed. I would like to sit on the patio and enjoy my morning coffee in peace but noooooooooooooo. :)

Lovely!

I have a thing with the burning barrels, because I have read that they do not burn at a high enough temp (like an incinerator would) and are far more toxic- its better to have it hauled off. Some people just let them smolder with plastic (which they could recycle, often FREE, but that might take a few minutes)

Anyway, I applaud the counties that have outright banned the practice. It can be a health threat to neighbors, dangerous in dry spells, and I also support mandatory pick up because then there isnt the temptation to dump on highways as much or burn.

OK I guess garbage is a thing with me!

Yoga- Pellet rifle! YOu crack me up.

Chuck- One year John just totally got into it. Made himself a rose garden, started the rock borders. It's cool.

Dawn- Enjoy!

Bluegrrrl- Trash burning! I think I should call the landlord and request that they provide their tenants w/trash pick-up.

Mark- I think you are speaking for Carla. Do you have permission to sign her name?

La Bellina- I guess you can't have it all.

Lynn- I agree w/you 100%. I feel like I need to educate them on alot. A recycling should be mandatory! I'm down with you on the garbage issue.
