Old Friends

After the pool debacle I was really looking forward to a party an old friend of mine was having back where John and I grew up. I get to see alot of people from school and old friends and new. Abe has the party every year and it is always so great to see everyone.

This is Abe and Albert. They were my roommates (just roommates) when I was 18! Such a long time ago.

Here is John with his best friend from back in the day and his brother.

At this same party last year I met my NEW friend Kevin. He is a very talented and creative guy. We hit it off right away.

Among other talents he makes the most beautiful handmade cards. I can barely use them because I want to frame them. But sometimes I do. He gave me MORE at the party. I will show you some.

Is he talented or what?

The next morning I shared a wonderful Colombian breakfast w/my friend Claudia. She made it for me. How nice is that. I wish I had taken a photo but my battery died.

John had gone on before me as Johnny had a game in Annapolis. After breakfast I stopped by Johns families house to wish Johns father a happy fathers day. When I got home I found John enjoying his fathers day gift. We hit it just right this year. He loves it.

What a great party. Love those cards. Kevin is very creative. A hammock for Father's Day? Couldn't get better than that.

It's great to see people making their own cards. I've always preferred giving and receiving handmade cards. The value of time and care spent developing gives them far more significance than a card that was mass produced and picked among hundreds.

Good for me- I would get so much more done if I didn't read the blogs. V. time consuming so believe me I understand. Hope the move went well.

Babzy- Kevin should start a business and sell them.

Cream- Yes. You should have one too.

Katie- I do try.

Peacechick- Well John w/that beautiful dark skin does always take a good photo but I am awful. I certainly don't post the hundreds of bad pics of me only the few a year that turn out. But thank you.

yh8?- I would much rather give nothing than a store bought card. They never say what I want them to.

Donnie- YOU too should have one!

JM- I see I have finally hit upon the OTHER gift that all men want! I shall spread the word.

La Bellina- I am lucky to still be in contact with friends from way back and that they are still so cool.
As for Kevin this is only the tip of the iceberg.

CM- Thank goodness or I wouldn't be going.

Lynn- Millions of them. Most of my pictures are bad. All the stars must be aligned and I for sure have to have some damn makeup on. HA!
I want to market those cards.

You made me feel all warm. Nothing like loving friends to make it all make sense. You and John are fortunate... and no doubt draw great people to you too.

Those cards are terrific.

There's just something about a hammock on a warm day.

Makes me feel the way my cat seems to feel/act every day.

Gary- I do appreciate my friends and family. They get me through a lot.

Bluegrrrl- I agree about Alberts tongue. He's one crazy guy too.

Peter- Thanks! And I love your hat!

Dawn- Ooo good luck. I'll check in to see how it went.

Lynn-I agree!

Pursey- You know some people avoid reunions but I do love them. Something about that bond over time.

Maria-I have been very busy lately and I keep sneaking away from my duties to lay in the hammock for a few minutes.

La bellina- You are too kind.
