I'm Impressed

Tomorrow (Saturday) Robert of Left of Centrist is participating in a Blogathon. The idea is to update your blog every 30 minutes for 24 hours. You get sponsors and raise money for the charity of your choice. His charity is The Alliance for Climate Protection. DO stop by and leave a comment or 2 tomorrow to help get him through. Better yet sponsor him if you like.
Good luck Robert!

I'll do my best. I agree with you about Lynn. She's always got great topics but she's such a pain because not only is she always right, she can read my mind across the telegraph wire and I'm not even kidding about that.

There is no topic that's beyond her reach or grasp.

There's also a guy there named MichaelBains who gives incredibly thoughtful and well-informed responses to Lynn's topics and to other commenters.

Love the name of your blog. How did you come up with it?

I always appreciate every anti-war link or blog gadget I see because this is THE ISSUE from which all things good or ungood may flow.

Also, liked the reminder of the warrior and the war. One of the things I've hated most about all of this is how my beloved US Navy, which saved my Dad's life and got him on the right path, is now being used to threaten Iran. I want to think only the best of the US Military. I hate Bush most for making me question that.

It's a blessing not to be living in the US anymore, but even from 1000s of miles away, I can hardly believe what I read and see.

Kelso- The name comes from my life motto. If you want something get it yourself. It won't fall in your lap. No one will give it to you. You must get it yourself. Don't sit around and cry "whoa is me", get up and get the problem solved, the thing you want, the skill you need.

I agree with you about the anti-war being THE issue. I can hardly look at anything else. And it's so funny, I was just thinking yesterday about my mistrust of the military and what a shame it is that its come to that. My son is in the military and in Baghdad. I hear it first hand.

Geez - a post every 30 minutes, it takes me hours to write a post and spell-check it.

1.Lynn sounds very impressive. :)

2.She's also a big fan of Bains the Zombie Evader.

3. I agree, for the most part we DO have to get things for ourselves.

4. Every thirty minutes? Oh my ass would fall asleep! I have to go see who this person is and think of something to stir up trouble.

Tomcat- I was thinking about you while I was sitting on the beach today. I was thinking how OC is a barrier island. Something about that makes pretty good waves so maybe our waves are better than Jersey. PS- I have been to the Jersey shore. My mom and dad are from Jersey.

Gary- The ebb and flow of blogging. I'm ebbing right now. (Ack! Obviously I'm spending too much time by the seaside.)

Earl- Me too! I can't see myself taking that on.

Kelso- sounds like a plan.

Lynn- You're too funny. I'm checking out Bains.

Mary, Atlantic City (with Ventnor, Margate, and Longport) is also on a barrier island. Your pics of the surf there were exactly what I was used to.
