Dickey Betts and Great Southern

What can I say? They totally rocked. I really enjoyed the show. I was right up front and in awe. Aside from some pushy chicks trying to edge me out (I held my ground) I enjoyed every minute. And I caught a guitar pick! Well John did. Dickey Betts threw it and John caught it. Then Andy Aledort looked right at me (I think so) and threw his pick and I missed it. The guy next to me picked it up and handed it to me (see he saw Andy meant to get it to me) but I couldn't be that selfish to take 2. I let him keep it. I was totally inspired by the show. Screw the kids and all the freaking lessons they get to take and then don't appreciate. I'm signing myself up for guitar lessons. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha......

I saw the Allmans in Indy back in 1969 or '70 - I should have kept the ticket. Duane and Gregg together were great, but I saw them again a decade later with Betts and for some reason they rocked me out even more then. On another topic, drop by Left of Centrist for a major announcement.

You can sign up for all the lessons you like, but what those guys have is a god-given gift. But go for it anyway!

Glad you liked the show, Mary. And good for you in keeping those rude bimbos in their places!

Good for you! And very nice to share! ; )

Went to one of the Judds first concerts before they became a name. I have a pink pick that says: Wynonna on it, and my old gf has the set-list.

so...did they sing, "Lord, I was born a Ramblin' Man?" favorite song of all time...does Greg Allman still sing with them?

For me it was Stevie Ray Vaughan. He played at the college I was attending in the mid 80's. I had a connection that got me a backstage pass which resulted in an autograph and awestruck babblings that went something like, "You guys are awesome!" If there are guitar gods, SRV had a direct channel to them.

Robert- Any combination of them does it for me though I'd love to see the all together again.

Yh8?- Don't I.

WT- Well thanks for the vote of confidence. But you are right. I love those God given talents. They rock.

Yoga- Yeah I'm too old to let people push me around.

La Bella- The best!

CM- I was never much of a concert goer but these small venues are the only way to go IMO.

No- You bet they did. But Dickey isn't w/the Allmand Bros. anymore. The Allmand Bros. are touring this summer. I'd love to see them too.

Shorethings- SRV is a wonder also. I always swear I'm not gonna be star struck but I kept looking a DB and think Wow. I can't believe he is right there.

Ha! Love the way you stood your ground!

I used to be a pushy chick.

Glad you had fun, Mary.

Lynn- Not you! Pushy? I don't believe it. Seriously, I have a bruise on my hip from pressing so hard against the railing to keep my spot. LOL!
