Saturday Plans

Really wanted to be at the march in DC this morning. I was planning on it all week. Nothing was coming together with the rest of the family though and by Friday afternoon I realized I would be going alone. I bagged it. By Friday night I was hit by a cold. It's amazing how fast those things come on.

So I wake up on this GORGEOUS Saturday morning and think "Bummer. Would have been a great day in DC." Now I find it is the Winefest in Ocean City today. I miss it every year because I am out of town. Now I am in town and I have a cold! Can I rally round? Take some coldease and airborne and grab a wine glass? Could I even find someone to go w/me? Winefest alone would be a lot more tragic than marching for peace alone.
Whoa is me...

if I were on the east coast, you could count me in ;)

speaking of, looks like I'll be in DC-area MD (Mt. Ranier) on the weekend of Oct 27 - for father-in-law's memorial service...

Alice- Well maybe we could get together IF your plans allow. I was hoping that the United for Peace and Justice march would be happening in DC that weekend but it seems to be in every city but.

La Bella...If only you and Alice were here!

Cheers, Mary! I joined the march ere in Portland for a few minutes. It was small. There was one heckler, but other bystanders booed him until he went away.

I hate colds! Or strep throats for that matter but at least you can get antibiotics for that. I tell you, I'd rather be put under the knife than have a cold and I've had some baad ones! (and I've been under the knife a few times as well btw).. Take vitamine C (and a lot of it otherwise it won't work, I take 20 to 25grams a day in between eating food or take as much until diahrea sets in yes bon appetit to you really works! that plus drinking a lot of water when you do it..)
hope you get better soon!

I live on the west coast and DC is a long way for me to go. But I don't think that a person has to travel to protest.

I went to the war protest here today, we have it every week.

Take care Mary, hugs.

Hi Mary,

I hope that your cold is better today. I think that our bodies have much wisdom and it is good to listen to them. I hope that however you spent your time - resting or enjoying some wines - it was healing for you.

Accept your fate. You can't make the march and can't taste the wine, let alone be alone. Sit with a warm quilt, a good book and (if me) a warm ginger tea, laced with rum or whisky. It will all be fine...

Just get a box of wine, open the windows and invite the flies inside.

Take the wine, take the dope - but not together. Bad combo. Strange things happen.

I must be commiserating. I have the sniffles...(:
