Why march?

Sept15 button

I'm marching because men and women are risking and losing lives in Iraq for an immoral war. I'm marching because war is not the answer. I'm marching because I'm against a lawless administration. I'm marching because I want accountability from the people who call for war. I'm marching because I want to see Bush and Cheney IMPEACHED! I marching because I want America to be a proud and respectful nation.

I'll be there for the same reasons!

And I want the world to see that the American people don't support the horrible things our government is doing. (Guess I'm being either optimistic or naive to hope that our numbers will be portrayed accurately in the media.)

I would love to connect with you while there! If that is a possibility, please give me your email address on my "contact" form on the left side of my blog so that I can give you my contact info.

I know there will be other bloggers there and it would be fun to meet.

I'll be there in spirit. Too far away to go in person.

I don't know about other countries but I think most Canadians know what's going on with Americans and know they are, for the most, part being held hostage by a nut bar and his administration.

I must look up impeachment but you can give me the down and dirty version. Nixon was impeached, right? How possible is it to impeach a president? What would happen to the government? Actually I'm going to ask Hope at Dirty Little Secrets. She'll know all about it.

Mary, I was going to tell you that Carol would be there, but she beat me to it. I'll be there too! I already have Carol's cell number and like her, I;d like to meet with other bloggers who will be there. Drop me a line - you can write me through the "Contact Us" section of the new blog. I'll send you my cell.

And still going strong.
Alas Mary, if only people stuck by their guns, and voted with their conscious ...
but seems people in the US and Britaon (indeed most places) have short memories.

At least we here we have an excuse, not voting for Bush would be like voting for cheney. With Blair gone who is the british public tovote for Brown or conservative

Our guy, in parroting Dubya, said we can't pull out now because there would be a power vacuum and chaos would ensue, and the terrorists would win.

My question is "What's the difference between now and five years ago just after the "Mission Accomplished" banner?" (apart from the obvious loss of lives). So when would be a good time?

I think that it would be a lot more stable over there if the Coalition of the Willing had managed to restore some water and power over the past five years.

It's time to go.

The problem isn't that not enough people feel this way, but rather that not enough feel strongly enough to take to the streets and show it. If more people felt that they had a stake in effecting the outcome, and that their voice mattered, perhaps this could change. But this seems like a good start.

Good luck with the March, Mary.
Bush paid a surprise visit to the troops in Irak, yesterday.
I'm sure he didn't stay very long.

Carol- I am impressed you are coming from so far away. Dedication!

Babzy- Thanks for the support. HERE is a link that should answer all your questions.

Robert- I have not been able to get on your site for a couple days now. I will keep trying.

Quasar- Hard to stay positive isn't it?

WT- I couldn't agree more. I can't imagine being all this time w/o water and power.

Yoga- We need action!

Katie- Thanks!

Lynn- oh I hope we have really big numbers.

La Bellina- Thank you.

JM- I have a feeling it has to get way worse (which I can't imagine what that would be) before people get up. But I'm gonna stay positive for now.

TUA-Yes. Unfortunately it takes me right back to get-it-4-yourself. No rest.

Cream- It made me so mad hearing about all the security he had. It's his war. He ought to stay and participate in it.

CM- I like that. Walk this way!

...and I'm proud and respectful of you and all the other marchers.

As a wise Frenchman once said, "In France, our government is afraid of the people...in American, the people are afraid of the government."

Time to change that.
