What up?

I'm still working on the damn peacock feathers. 3rd times the charm right? I'm going for perfection. I opened the kiln this A.M on my redo of the 1st set and they are okay just not what I was shooting for. I will just completely redo them. It's okay. It's why I haven't been around and things will continue on that way for a while I guess. I have listened to the last book of Harry Potter on tape while I did this last round which shows you the time it takes. I need another book on tape. I can do it.

NYC was great as always. We took the kids to a comedy club. Fun. Funny. I'm in too much of a rush here to load pics. I had lost 10 lbs. before I left and then gained a couple of those lbs back BUT I behaved again once I was home and its gone and then some.

College apps and all are still stressing me. Really it's the portfolio but she'll get it done. My oldest, Taylor who graduated college got a call back on a job she's really hoping for so lets send her good juju that she LANDS it. She wants it SOOOO bad.

Michael. Haven't heard from him in over a week. MICHAEL! I am almost positive he's not running missions any longer and should be out of Iraq in a couple days and headed for Germany. From there he will come HOME on Dec. 1st. NOT MUCH LONGER! And then it's party time!

What am I watching on TV? Well I watched the debates last nite. I have to get over to Politics Plus where I'm sure Tomcat has a great analysis. I haven't checked yet though. (Yes I checked. It's there and right on the money.)Other than that I only watch Dancing with the Stars. Sorry everyone but it is THE only show I make a point to watch. Oh and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Oh wait! How could I forget? Yesterday on Oprah I watched INSIDE THE LIVES OF HOARDERS. I lean towards being a neat freak. This would be the worst thing I could imagine. I totally cleaned out my dresser, my linen closet and the cabinets under 2 bathroom sinks WHILE I was watching it. Purge people! You will feel better. I love getting rid of STUFF. Part 2 is on today and I'm gonna try and watch it. Check out the link. You won't believe it.

That concludes my allotted blogging time. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hunkering down on creative projects.... good winter thing to do. I'm sure you are waiting, praying counting down to Michaels return.
Probably summoning up all the Angels to help him get home safely.

I caught the Oprah segment on Hoarding.
the pro said it well-- take 2 yard sized bags... fill one with trash & one w Goodwill stuff- each day.
10 minutes.

I am guilty of putting stuff in the garage when I don't know what to do with it, or just want it out of the way. No room for a car!

Guess what my next big project is?

He's getting rested for party time.:)

I want to thank you for your kind support during the last week. It was treasured, believe me!

I just wish he'd call me! I sure he's just busy. Anyway it almost over. It's almost over. I decided I like the feathers after all. My first reaction was to reject them as they weren't exactly what I was shooting for but when I looked again I said its good. So I can get started right away on the mosaic which is the easy part.

Carol- It's been so long since I mentioned them but all I've been doing is feathers between kids and college! I promise lots of pictures. Maybe even today.

Fran- Summoning angels is right! If I just get the call that he's in Germany I can breathe!
"Guess what my next big project is?"
I knew it would be motivating which is why I wanted to watch it. Let's face it, we all always have some little area that needs to be cleaned out. The word that comes to my mind is BARN. I love that guy Peter Walsh and his 2 bag idea. I've seen his show on TLC Clean Sweep. He really is fantastic at the organizing.

TUA- I hardly think I am much support BUT I truly wish I could be for you as you are invaluable to me. Your tribute to Sunshine was wonderful. What a man.

Easybreathing- I'll come right over and see what you've done to me....
IT was my pleasure to read your story as it was so interesting. I wouldn't have read it all otherwise.

I'll count the days with you! It will be so fine to see him. What a Christmas.

I'm not a purger, but more of a collector...not anything though, just important things like books, ceramic pieces, carpets and...well I'm over it now, but at one point I had a snow shaker collection. (My favourite was Santa kneeling in front of Jesus in the Manger - in the snow of course).

Isn't waiting to open the kiln after a firing fun? ; ( Ya just never know what you'll find. Even cracked pieces sometimes turn out pretty good.

And look forward to hearing that Michael is back safe in the homeland!

You sound busier than a long-tail TomCat in a rocking chair convention.

Thoughts and prayers for Michael.

Hi Mary,

College apps, ceramics, daily chores and waiting for someone very special to return must take more time than I can even imagine.

With the silks it's the same thing for me when they get unwrapped after steaming.. or looking at what I'd added to a painting the night before to see if it passes the test of daylight. I don't mind my job but I miss working in natural light esp. at this time of year.

Thanks for your visit and I'll try to come by more often. Looking forward to hearing about your reunion. I send you best wishes for all your dreams to come true.

Hi Mary. Only a couple more weeks until you get your boy home! Best Christmas present ever.

I taped the hoarding show on Oprah. Wasn't it shocking? I cried all the way through it both sad tears and happy tears at the end. What an amazing transformation.

Good luck with your feathers. Looking forward to photos.

Mary... Good to read about your everyday existance. I'm counting the days with you when you will hug your son again. Feathers, eh? Hard to duplicate what the sacred earth mother provided, but if anyone can do it, it's you. Take it easy and get a deep breath.

Gary- I can get obsessed w/collecting things but only if I have a place to put them. Your collections sound wonderful!

CM- Thank goodness its called art! I have finally started the mosaic. Hope to post some progress pictures.

Tomcat-That I am. Thank you for the prayers. Really.

Susan- I can't stand not working in natural light. I NEED to see my color. Luckily I liked what I saw on my second look.

Babzy- It was an emotional show wasn't it? Seems like that poor woman has a long row to hoe yet. You can't help thinking of the people who have her same illness and DON"T have Oprah.

Spado! Always a treat to have you here! NO way am I competing w/Mother Nature. I just do my best. I'll have some pics soon. I am quite overwhelmed at the moment by the size of what I am doing. I feel a little like someone who's just been sentenced. I'm excited to have gotten started but WTF was I thinking?
