BIG DAY!!!!!

Okay everyone....I have that feeling today like I used to get when I was a kid and it was Christmas. I think I'm burning calories without even trying. I go to the airport at 8PM!!!!!!!!! But I have to contain myself because I am sure Michael will be very tired and cranky. I just want to get one good hug in and I swear I will leave him alone.

Luckily it's grout day so I will be busy grouting today and that should make the time pass until I get to go get him.

In other friend Su and I went to the opening of the Harris Teeter last night. Here's how desperate we are for a good grocery store around here: The parking lot was full. We had to wait for a space. I'm sure if we weren't there together we would have left. When we went in there were long lines snaking around everywhere for free samples. I mean come on! It's just a free sample at the grocery store people. Are you really gonna wait 10 minutes in line to taste some chicken?!?!?! You could barely walk in the place. We were glad to see a produce section with some great organic stuff and things that would normally not be seen in our GS like SWISS CHARD and really beautiful beets. The meat dept. looked good too. Cut to order meat is like unheard off around here. Normally were lucky to get fresh meat. Hope it all wasn't just a show for opening night.

Wonderful news, Mary! Can't wait until your next post whenever that may be. No matter how cranky your boy is, he will be so happy to sleep in his own bed tonight. You could even sneak into his room and just look at him like we all used to do when they were babies sleeping in their little cribs.

God Bless you and your family, Mary. I am so glad he made it home safely.

Just remember, he's not your "little boy" anymore. Give him a little space and let him learn to relax again. Keep an eye on his moods. If you have questions you know you can talk to me or spadoman.

Don't mean to be a bummer here, just trying to give you a little heads up.

Merry Christmas! I know you're ready for your best present ever!

To great to be real.
God speed, my friend, and give a big hug to that tired, grumpy child of yours. This must seem surreal, exciting, baffling, and soooo full of love and relief. Oh, my goodness. I cannot contain myself. Many heartfelt congratulations to you, to have your little one back into the family fold!

And I'll bet it feels like a ton of boulders rolled off your shoulders! I always hold my breath between the last call home from Iraq to the call from the last stop before home. I am so happy that Michael is finally home safe and sound.

As far as grocery shopping I only got two rules I try to follow to the letter and that is 1) NO RUGRATS allowed and 2) NEVER, NO NEVER go grocery shopping on sample days! You are right...who stands in line to taste "chicken"? And for a "bite" the size of a California raisin, no less!

Enjoy yourself :) Congratulations.

Oh happy day! You must be having a hard time keeping your feet on the ground.... floating on cloud 9 with the safe return of Michael.

You can all breathe that long overdue sigh of relief.

Why not slip a "I Love You!" in his ear during that one hug?:) He's spent a long time with a lot of people who hated him. Those words may sound pretty damn good!!!

I am so spoiled.

I'm glad you got a decent grocery store - it's very hard functioning without, as you know all too well!
