And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Sorry but have to mention that over the weekend my friend had a BIG birthday. I know you all are sick of hearing about all the celebration around here but I would be remiss if I did not post on my friend Maggies birthday. Don't bother commenting. I mean what else could you say? "Party On!"? Maggie this one is for you.

The birthday girl...

The girls...

Our anti-aging plan...

More friends....

The storyteller...

The pink shirts (and the blue)...

John, who was the designated driver and told me I was too loud. Never mind how loud he is when he drinks. Bitter.

The art worshiper...

The clown...

And finally, the CAKE!

Happy Birthday Maggie! We'll be around for many more of those parties.

Fun Monday

This is my first Fun Monday. I'm in by way of Willow Tree of A Dingo's got my Barbie. The topic is "My Blogging Environment". I have to post quickly and literally because my son has big oral surgery this morning.

Here is where I sit when I am blogging. A very small, narrow room but one of my favorites.

One Big Post (and Party)

Alrighty then. Here's how my week has gone. I've been putting this off. I don't know why. Tired maybe. Or maybe I am just wallowing a little in the emotions. Bittersweet. Where to start, where to start....

We picked Michael up on Thursday which as any regular reader or aquaintence of mine knows, is 99 cent taco night so off we went. (Bluegrrrrl I was thinking of you as I enjoyed my Margarita's).

Friday my daughter Taylor and her boyfriend Sheldon arrived. Michael wanted to go see some friends of his that evening who are in a band called Lower Class Citizens. An excellent band. They asked us to come along but I had to decline as SOMEONE had to prepare for the party that was being held the next day. But John went.

Taylor and Michael. It's good to see them together.

Ummm...is that a shot in John's hand?

On to Saturday and the BIG party for Michael. Instead of hiding under the bed we decided to participate. Here's a picture I like to call "John about to take a shot."

Followed up by "John finishing a shot."

John and Michael (you guessed it) taking a shot.

And I'll finish with this one which I call "WTF?"

Seriously it was a great party. Everyone got to blow off some steam and just have fun.

I saved the best for last....

At least the last for that night. We rested 2 days and Michael asked us to join him again on Tuesday when Lower Class Citizens were again playing. How can we refuse him?

My friends Deb and Bill happen to be the parents of two of the band members and we ran into them. (There was alot of artificial fog happening at this bar I think.)

Have you had enough? Well if I have to I will do it all again next week.

Aussie Booty!

Whoo-hoo! I won a prize! I answered a question correctly over at A Dingo's Got My Barbie. Look what I won...

and this which I wasn't even expecting...

I love my prize!
A few weeks ago I received another prize in the mail from a blogger contest at Cafe DA. All the way from Amsterdam.

I don't know what all this blog contest winning says about me but I am sure it's not good. I do LOVE my prizes though.

No words from me...

I don't have any words in me lately but I read THIS today and feel strongly that everyone should read it and act. Please do.

He's Baaaaaccccck

Man! You can't imagine how good this feels. John and I are just floating. Taylor will be home later today too and then for the first time in quite a while I will have all four children at home.
Happy Days.

One Year of Blogging

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the start of my blog. That went fast! What a ride. I have made so many friends on this blogging ride and I've learned so much and been inspired by all the blogs I read. It's been a positive addition to my life . Here's to another year.

I've been expecting Michael to arrive any time now and after 2 days of obsessively carrying around the phone and NO sleep I received the phone call with flight information last night. I will pick him up on Thursday. I slept like a rock last night. Felt good.

And now back to reality for me. I have some work to finish up. Arghhhh!

Work, work, work

Please excuse my absence from blogging. (the next is said w/sarcasm) I know you all are greatly disappointed to not have a post from me lately. (yeah right)
I do all the taxes around here for Johns business. Plus I have a couple deadlines to meet by the weekend for my own work. PLUS! I have Michael coming home next week so I am pushing to get it all done.
I'll be around reading though. I am easily distracted from the paperwork part.

It's my birthday...

I've been doing a pretty good job celebrating. I told you about Friday night. Saturday my sister Carla and John and I went out to dinner. We went to this place that used to be just a beer and wine store and then they added a bistro. So one half you are sitting in what seems like a wine cellar and has a cheese bar. The other half (where we were) you are seated in the beer and wine store and it has a bar. They sell some very high end wines there but we were seated by the Reunite. It was a good time.

My actual birthday started off early, early this morning with a call from Michael wishing me a good one. Made my day. I guess I have to start winding down now though since it is THE day right now. Another year....

Fun Night

Last night my friends Bill and Deb had an art opening at a lovely little gallery called Bishops Stock. Here are John and our fellow peace marcher Su (aka the awesome sign maker) outside the gallery.

Let's go inside and see what's shaking...
Ahh, a true art apreciator!
(Click on the pictures to see the art better.)

Here are a couple of Bill's paintings. John loves the top one. Bill's work is awesome. I love the light and shadow and precision of his paintings.

John and Deb.

This is one of my favorites of Deb's but there are many, many, many of hers and for that matter Bill's that I love. This one is called "Mexa-chi".

The gallery owner with Deb and Bill.

After viewing the art we retired to Bill and Deb's house for a little Par-tay.

That's right, we got a little crazy.

And then! my friends surprised me with a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday to moi! Mm, mm, mm... good friends are good to have. (And my b-days not until Monday.)

Grade for the evening: Perfection.
