Think back four years ago, to when you first heard that the Iraq War had started.
Were you for or against the war at the time?
If you were for it, what has changed your mind over the last four years?
If you were against it, why were you against it?
When I think back I can remember being just plain scared. I was never for the war. War is never the answer in my mind. I was scared because I knew it would lead to alot of sadness. Little did I know at the time how close to home the war would come for me. I can tell you I NEVER imagined in my wildest dreams that my son would join the army. Anyone who knew him I am certain, would say the same thing.
At the time that it started I was against the war because it was a war. I don't think I had figured out all the other reasons it was so wrong yet. All the lies we were told. It was embarrassing to see the citizens of our country get behind a war with so much bravado. Eager for the bloodshed. Like some archaic society. Throwing stones for entertainment. Why can't they rally like that for PEACE. The payoff seems bigger and more rewarding to me.
