McGovern calls for IMPEACHMENT
"A President, any President, who maintains that he is above the law -- and repeatedly violates the law -- thereby commits high crimes and misdemeanors."
Elizabeth Holtzman
In case you didn't catch THIS article in WaPo today (Why I Believe Bush Must Go)
"As we enter the eighth year of the Bush-Cheney administration, I have belatedly and painfully concluded that the only honorable course for me is to urge the impeachment of the president and the vice president." - By George McGovern
All I can say is what the hell took you so long?

take care..
namaste...
I can only say my infamous....
Nooooo Shit!!
I wonder if it took this long to come to that conclusion, because now they know it's "safe" (Congress has no balls and time is running out) to say that.
I can't decide if this is a case of "too little, too late" or do we just chalk it up to "better late than never"? Everything he says is right, but there should have been a groundswell of voices saying this years ago. Given that most Democrats will want to play if safe and not risk being portrayed as partisan prior to a Presidential election that they probably can win, I don't have any hope that this will happen. Too bad actually, since it wasn't that long ago that America was about doing the "right thing" and not just picking the expedient option.
Hi Mary,
A happy New year. Before you go making any Presidential changes, would somebody in the White House please send back the dog collar that your chap leads our chap round with.
Then our chap might learn to think for themselves. But I doubt it.
Best regards
Love

'They have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They have transgressed national and international law. They have lied to the American people time after time. Their conduct and their barbaric policies have reduced our beloved country to a historic low in the eyes of people around the world'.
I had to offer another quote from the article but have little to no hope the impeachment process will be enacted. But it would be a start to some sort of healing. Maybe we can hope for criminal charges after they leave office - even international ones being acquiesced to by our government would be a huge change.
Sorry Michael had to leave again. I don't always pay good attention and had thought he was back to stay. May he stay safe and be home to stay soon.
Hello???
Well I see we're all on the same page!
Great minds, Mary. :-)
I'll stop calling for impeachment the day Bush leaves office and start demanding criminal indictments.
better now than never, but personally I've never understood why he hasn't already been impeached for breaking the laws and constitution he swore to uphold.
