It was a fairly quiet New Years Eve here. John's mother and father came as well as 2of his brothers.

My sister Rita...

and my friend Maggie.

That's a pretty small crowd for us. To be honest I wasn't really on top of the invites like I should have been. Tired I guess. I don't know. I always have a sit down dinner on NYE. I think if I changed that up to just food put out I would invite more people.

Michael and his friend hung around until about 9 which was great. Poor kid was THE photo opportunity the whole time he was home. Everyone has photo w/Michael.

Lisa also hung out for a while then departed for a more exciting party. SO pretty! And rocking some new red shoes.

A couple cousins around and Johnny also...

I didn't even get the noise makers out. I'm lame. In fact this post is boring the shit out of me. But Carla, look how good Rita looks.

mary honey- don't put so much pressure on yourself. you had your children at home to enjoy- and that was your priority- and folks get that :) they would much rather have pictures of michael and spend time with him than big parties or hoopla. you did fine :) happy new year!

Nice photos! It looks like you had a good time with family. I'm glad that Michael was there for the holidays.

Our NYE was VERY quiet - as in just the two of us sitting by the fire, asleep by 10:30. ZZZZzzzzzzz...

Hey-- there's enough noise in the world--stop kicking yourself. You were still recovering from the custom design number in your kitchen (I bet folks were wowed to see it in living color!).
Quiet NYE's are fine. You had a get together & all was well. Talk yourself into the buffet style serving for future parties & enjoy it more yourself.
Simplify & set yourself free.

Okay, I love Rita's hair..my hair is about that color (when I color the grey, of course) and is extremely thick...however, it sticks straight out most of the time...I'm trying to grow it long; seriously, how does she style it? I'm extremely jealous!

Is that Michael sporting a beard? Can they have those in the army?

Katie- I needed to sleep!

Cream- See that's what I was missing...DANCING!

Carol- Actually that sounds nice.

No- Rita colors it. I love her color. And her hair is so thick (as in each strand) and she has lots of it. Mine is very curly and I have lots of it but hers isn't really curly but it isn't straight. She does blow dry it (use a big round brush) and has a flat iron. And product Beth. Girls like us have to use product. The only way it really works for her is to have it longer. She can't do short. Either can I. Rita and I both have difficult hair so we have YEARS of bad hair behind us.
(Sorry to give everything up in public here Rita but you know...you gotta help a sister out.)

My New Year's Eve was even smaller. I had a bit of my headache. My husband and I grilled steaks, then watched a little TV, then went to bed.
