A+ weekend

My youngest sibling is turning 40. Wonder how that makes a mother feel? I'm not going to ask mine.
Carla and her HUSBAND Scott came for a visit. My brother lives in Dewey Beach and I'm a short distance away. I got to hang on the beach with them for a little while on Saturday and then we went out for a birthday dinner. I mentioned how un-photogenic I am to my brother-in-law so he took pictures of me all night just to prove my point. Carla, always the show girl, poses next to or behind me and looks great in every single shot. Especially the one where she's ACTING like she has cleavage. Oscar winning performance. Meanwhile I am weary of looking like an old hag. But that's what you get for hanging out on the beach for 20 years. I can't imagine a life with no beach.

There are hundreds more but you get the point. She's always cute. Here she is with Scott and my brother Joe.

Here is the photo that made me laugh out loud the second I saw it. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Someone has bad-ass manners. Did he really think he had a chance when I wasn't looking and went for it? I know he didn't think he was in the picture frame. So busted.

We went back to Joe's for cake after dinner. It was a great time and I wish Carla and Scott would visit us more often.

Then came Sunday. What a perfect specimen of a day. John tries to spend Sunday with me and go to the beach. I usually get a half day out of him but this Sunday he spent the whole day with me on the beach. The water was great, the sun was shining....

personally, i don't think you look like an old hag :) and if i had a choice between looking like an old hag or enjoying beautiful days at the beach with the man i love- i would definitely make the same choice. having model perfect bodies as a trade off for not living life- well, i would rather live life. and it looks like you and your family have both :) glad you had a nice time.

I agree Betmo. I'll take my sacrifices. I adore the outdoors and my man!

Q-I know you like the sun.

eh... you two just seem to have entirely different styles. She is cute, no doubt, - but you have an outdoorsy prettiness that she lacks.

My youngest sibling is turning 40.

It states on your profile that you are 45. So you started this blog when you were 45 and haven't updated your profile for 20 years?

If your youngest is 40 you must be about 60-65. That's interesting cuz I don't think you could have had kids at five, or in most cases even ten.

Hayden- Thanks but I have definitely spent alot of time in the sun without protection and it shows. I'm just having a hard time with wrinkles right now. So shallow.

Tash- Thanks for coming by.

Carol- Thanks. Gosh it seems I was fishing for compliments but really i wasn't.

Krimo- I am very lucky to have John for sure.

Enigma-Like I said I know I have many blessings. I just gotta bitch about my looks every now and again.

BBC- You might want to refer to a dictionary.

Yep, ocean air is the best! ; )

I miss the bay area for that sometimes.

Old hag? I think not.

1/2 a day? Yikes, doesn't quite seem like enough for anyone at our age, after all we've been through to get here!

Mary::: oh, you can bitch plenty- my point was well, once you are over 40- cleavage does matter half as much as nice beach near by...seriously...( btw I have sister she has cleavage- but she is miserable...she lies and tells everyone she is 7 years younger than me- she is not- and people starting telling her that she looked like the "older" sis...see- it all catches up up in the end...) Take care- hope you are feeling better...

E4E- I know! I wouldn't give up the beach for anything. Really. I'm always trying to get people to move here including my sister. She's the best and I have so much fun with her. But honestly she really did mind her p's and Q's by using her sunblock. She spends a lot of time outside but looks great at 40 and I give her all the credit she totally deserves. I don't regret much but maybe I should have worn that darn sun block. Oh well!

Ingrid- Ok. I'm done. Promise.
And I do have a lot of hair. They hate to see me coming at the hair salon. No one wants blow dry my hair when its time because there is so much. For that I am grateful! Plus my best friend is a hair stylist and gives me the BEST cut and color. Can a girl ask for more?....YESSSSS!

CM- I seriously wish john would see it the same way as you. He really is a workaholic. I wish I could change that but so far no luck.
