Poor neglected blog...

I feel sorry for my little blog. Today I will give some attention. It's a work in the office day so I think I can make a little time for GET YOUR OWN. I have been busy getting alot of my own so I think that excuses my absence.

My semester is almost over. I have finished throwing and glazing at school. Just waiting for the last pieces to be fired. At home I made a whole mess of stuff and will glaze this weekend. Yeah! Can't wait. I haven't thrown anything for over a week and the rest was much needed.

We had a great Thanksgiving though it wore me out! Not as large a group as usual and that's okay.

It was great having Lisa home but it went by so quick.

Michael had a hard time finding a job (so much for supporting the troops). He applied everywhere and couldn't even get a job at Home Depot! He finally gave up and went to work for John. Nobody wants to work for their father but I think it's going better than it did when he was teen. At any rate after trying so hard to find a job w/no success he appreciates the job. John can definitely teach him some skills. I'm still hoping he'll decide to go to college.

So how is everyone?!!!

Wow, would love to see a picture of your pieces after they are glazed. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving, now we're getting into the full Christmas swing!

mary honey- the economy is bleak- 500,00o+ got laid off so far. i don't doubt michael couldn't find a job. sounds like you are incredibly busy and could use a rest- too bad cmas is around the corner :) i am currently procrastinating on baking cookies to send in packages- next year i am not sending any but you can't just stop- you have to warn folks who have had 10 years of homemade goodness :) if i hadn't already purchased the ingredients i wouldn't really bother- but i hate to see anything not get used. i have 4 lbs. of butter for lord's sake :) your stuff looks great even preglazed- loop when you can.

My arm gets sore too, and eventually, the cost of throwing all that stuff starts to add up!:) Welcome back!

Glad to hear all is well.

Even in better times, I've heard people hesitate to give anyone a job that's been overseas, at least the Viet Nam vets I've spoke to ; (

I'm sure having some life experience and now sharing with Dad will be better 4 everyone.

Hard times though, and so it goes ; (

CD coming your way.....Cheers!

CM- You spoil me! I look forward to your CD. I'm sure it will be my new favorite!

I don't think Michael could have a better example of a decent human being than John so I am glad they are working together. Plus it is a valuable set of skills John has.

Mary, no wonder your blog has suffered! You've got yourself into industrial pottery!!

Yes, it is hard to work for one's parents. It has taken my son nearly 6 years to come to terms with it and who can blame him?
I'd shoot myself if I had to work for me!

Well you know it makes me furious that Micheal is having a hard time finding a job. It's good to know he will be working with his Dad, though.

My son is finally working, so I am happy about that.

Yes, Christmas is breathing down our necks. Wonderful, isn't it?

We have been staying afloat in this blighted economy, but the son works as a security guard in a building that is totally shut down & no longer operational.

The husbands workplace has done about 5 waves of layoffs & shut down a bunch of plants in Indiana.
They are seriously struggling... even the COES are taking major pay cuts.

My workplace did a wave of layoffs, but I survived.

Locally about 26 bank robberies since September & today a GOODWILL was robbed at gunpoint.
WTF??? That is some bad karma.

So I am observing tough times in my area, that has lost 14,000 jobs.

It's like watching the economy meltdown in slow motion.

Fran- Jesus. It's scary out there isn't it? I see it all around me. It hasn't hit John and I yet but we are trying to be smart and prepare. I don't know how you can be ready.

There you are!!!

You and your beautiful pottery.

W is like a man who gets off during sex and leaves the woman wanting. He gets what he wants and then moves on. Sorry, but how can anyone live with himself when he sends others off to kill and be killed and then when they come home maimed or looking for a job, he doesn't even acknowledge their existence???

OK. Now that I have thrown my little tantrum, I have to say that I'm glad that Michael is getting to spend this time with John. Ya never know the good that will come out of that.

Much peace, love and fun Christmas times to you.

Carol- I love your W description! Spot on.
I am certain that the time spent w/John is a good thing. It reminds me of the Rolling Stones "You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need."

Enjoy your holiday too. The snow alone should make magically peaceful.

Krissy, Krissy, Krissy!! I love you! Thanks for that reminder!!!!

I thought I'd slow down after the election, but the targets contuinue to be too plentiful to ignore.

The MSM is still lying, and the moronic monkey is throwing as many last-minute wrenches into the works as he can find. Reconstitution appears to have a long life ahead of it :(
